Hacking group ShinyHunters claims to have stolen up to three terabytes of data on every FBI employee, including names, badge numbers, home addresses, phone numbers and spouse details. The group says it breached FBI servers on Monday, targeting systems including FBIJOBS, a background-check database and FBI MedLink, which holds agents' medical records. The FBI says it is "actively and aggressively investigating" the claimed compromise of its jobs portal. Former FBI counterintelligence operative Eric O'Neill warned the stolen data was "a foreign intelligence service goldmine."
Leaked data reportedly includes job assignments linking named agents to operations targeting Chinese spies, Russian intelligence and drug cartels.
ShinyHunters is not demanding money — it wants the FBI to retract a public advisory that described the group as "threat actors."
O'Neill warned hostile foreign powers and domestic extremists alike would be "incredibly interested" in the list, adding: 'If I were on that list I would be very concerned.'
