Harry and Meghan 'could return to Montecito for good within weeks' as Ravec security ruling looms

Prince Harry and Meghan may abandon their UK stay and head back to Montecito, California permanently, with a friend warning the move could come 'as soon as half-term' if an ongoing Royal and VIP Executive Committee security review goes against them. A negative Ravec decision would be taken as a sign that 'deeper elements are at play', the friend says. The couple relocated from California to a Cotswolds home in August for what sources called an 'extended period', enrolling Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, in local schools. The Ravec ruling on their protection is expected within days.

A petition signed by more than 53,000 people opposes granting Harry taxpayer-funded security.

Harry's ally Earl Spencer is adding to the drama, with his new memoir accusing King Charles of making a callous remark about Diana after her death.

A school scheduling blunder over class finishing times is also said to have contributed to the children's recent school switch.
