Harry faces backlash over 'some people don't want it to work out' remark seen as a swipe at William
Prince Harry speaks to GQ Magazine, whose interview quoted him calling reconciliation with his family "the most important thing" — a remark his spokesman said was made in a general context.
Prince Harry made the comment during a GQ interview tied to a MasterClass on grief, for which the online platform reportedly paid him. A Sussex spokesman maintained that the remark was 'absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother'. Prince William is said to have cut off contact with Harry and is believed to oppose any resumption of royal duties by the Sussexes.
Harry told the interviewer: 'I certainly don't want any sympathy. We're way past that.'
Jeremy Vine suggested on air that William and Kate's camp wanted to take the Sussexes 'down a peg'.
