Harry Potter star Warwick Davis says he is 'not really privy' to the JK Rowling backlash ahead of HBO return

Warwick Davis, 56, said on Monday night that 'it would be nice if everyone could accept people who are different in this world for who they are, not for what they are'. He described himself as 'a person of difference' while on the Pride of Britain Awards red carpet in London. He is the only film actor reprising a role in HBO's series, returning as charms professor Filius Flitwick.

Rowling, an executive producer on the show, denies being transphobic over her gender views.

Davis called the show's crew 'the very best of the best' working on the series.

Last week trans rights protesters rushed the red carpet at a Cursed Child gala.
