Harry Styles debuts an unreleased song for Liam Payne that recalls burying a friend 'on a Wednesday night'
The haunting lyric appears to reference Payne's funeral, held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and attended by all four of his former One Direction bandmates. Styles, 32, unveiled the track, titled 'What Is Enough', at his Madison Square Garden residency on Friday night. The show fell on the second anniversary of Payne's death. Payne died aged 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
Styles told the crowd: 'Two years ago today, I lost one of those friends.'
Another lyric reads: 'I wrote you a letter just to burn it up.'
Niall Horan was also filmed in tears singing 'End of an Era' for Payne.
