Hollywood filmmaker Michael Mann, 83, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg at The Range LA on Saturday afternoon when his weapon fired as he was holstering it. Both the LAPD and the Los Angeles Fire Department attended the scene, with police classifying it as a training accident and confirming that Mann had no intention of harming himself.
Mann was transported by ambulance to hospital after the accidental discharge, which occurred at approximately 4pm local time on Saturday.
Despite earning four Academy Award nominations across his career, Mann has yet to take home an Oscar.
