Henry Nowak's family say they were asked to approve a press release casting him as the aggressor while driving home from identifying his body, amid police manipulation claims

Henry Nowak's family were asked to approve a press release depicting the 18-year-old University of Southampton student as an aggressor while driving home from identifying his body, his father Mark Nowak has revealed. Police initially told the family officers had administered first aid immediately, before admitting they had detained everyone, then only Henry, then handcuffed him, then placed him under arrest. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Chief Constable Alexis Boon has since apologised, saying 'when he needed us most, we failed him.' The family's account features in the forthcoming ITV documentary 'Dear Henry: Our Fight for Justice.'
Henry's family only saw body-worn camera footage of his final moments on the first day of Vickrum Digwa's trial.
In the footage, Henry repeats 'I've been stabbed' — an officer replies: 'Don't think you have, mate.'
His mother Lucy Ross said she was 'not interested' in politicians' 'game', asking why Henry's family was treated differently to Digwa's.
