A dog in Leawood, Kansas, flagged down a patrolling police officer and led him directly to its injured owner lying on a garage floor, unable to move. The owner had been trapped in that position for more than three hours before the dog found help. The officer immediately called for medical assistance, and the owner is now recovering safely at home.
Police bodycam footage captured the moment the dog stopped the officer in the road, trailing a leash with no owner in sight.
The officer followed the dog roughly half a block to an open garage, where he found the homeowner on the ground and unable to get up.
Leawood Police Department said: 'Thanks to the resident's loyal companion, our officer was able to find them and get them the help they needed.'
