Home Office stonewalls FOI on rape guidance as Piddington women demand Parliament debate their fears

Women in Piddington, an Oxfordshire village of 350 people, are alarmed after the Home Office declined to respond to a Freedom of Information request about its taxpayer-funded pamphlet on consent and rape. Plans exist to house 1,256 male asylum seekers at the MoD Bicester site, which borders the village. The nine-page document, released on August 19, informs asylum seekers that sexual activity requires mutual agreement and that consent is not valid when someone is asleep or intoxicated. Local resident Samantha Phillips said women believe the Home Office is concealing the pamphlet's cost and how widely it has been distributed.

Shadow Women & Equalities Minister Joy Morrissey says Women's Minister Bridget Phillipson 'straight up refused' to meet the women of Piddington.
