Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is told she 'must quit' if her migration crackdown is watered down after Rayner's revolt

Angela Rayner used a Sky News interview on Sunday to signal that she had won her Cabinet fight against the plans. The proposals would make migrants wait up to 15 years, up from five, for indefinite leave to remain. Rayner had branded the changes 'un-British' and a 'breach of trust', citing foreign care workers. Mahmood is now expected to dilute them to head off a Labour rebellion.
Rayner says Mahmood will deliver a system 'fair' to migrants 'who work in our public services'.
Labour MP Preet Kaur Gill urged colleagues to end the infighting and told Mahmood: 'Keep going.'
Gill claims many migrants 'feel quite entitled', as if 'Britain owes them'.
