Homicide detectives investigate after a Venezuelan composer was found 'tied up' at the bottom of his Florida backyard pool

Gus Ormo, a piano virtuoso and singer from Maracaibo, was pronounced dead after Broward County deputies answered a 911 call at around 9am on Friday. The caller reported a man who had been 'tied up' and possibly drowned. Aerial footage showed a long cord on the patio of his Weston home trailing into the water. The Broward County Medical Examiner is now working to establish a cause of death.

Ormo plugged his new piano album 'AGAPE' on Instagram just the day before.

His sister Antonieta Ormo says the family has no details on how he died.

Neighbour Bruno Gedikinan: 'it wasn't something I expected to happen in Weston.'
