Hundreds are arrested as rioters loot shops and storm Marseille town hall in nationwide French cost of living protests
More than half a million people joined Saturday's protests across France. In Paris, masked rioters hurled fireworks and paving stones, attacked a bank and looted a sports shop near Place de la République. A lorry was set alight and the flames spread to a nearby building. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez's ministry blamed 'far-left elements, whose sole intent is to incite disorder'.
Prime minister Sebastien Lecornu says more than 900 police have been injured in the unrest.
UK-funded 4x4s meant to stop Channel crossings were used to charge students in Dunkirk.
