Hungarian fighter jet escorts Wizz Air flight from London to an emergency landing in Budapest after a mid-air 'bomb threat'
The Wizz Air flight was travelling from London Luton to Sofia, Bulgaria, when the bomb threat was received mid-air on Monday. Hungarian Defence Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi confirmed the diversion in a Facebook post, and the aircraft was escorted to Budapest airport.
Passengers on board faced an unplanned emergency landing as Hungarian authorities scrambled the fighter jet to intercept the plane.
No reports of injuries or a confirmed device have emerged from the sources covering the incident.
