Huntingdon train knifeman asked passenger 'do you want to die?' while a crew member fought him with a frying pan, court hears
Anthony Williams, accused of attempting to murder 14 people across a Halloween weekend stabbing spree, has already pleaded guilty to 10 counts of wounding on the LNER service in July.
Anthony Williams, 33, of no fixed abode, is on trial at Cambridge Crown Court accused of 14 counts of attempted murder across a Halloween weekend rampage last November that left victims on streets, a DLR station and a packed LNER service from Doncaster to London. Williams admits carrying out the attacks and intending serious harm, but denies intending to kill. Prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC told jurors the assault on the train alone lasted just five minutes yet created 'terror and fear on an unimaginable scale.'
Passengers hid under seats and in toilets as Williams stalked carriages; the driver made an emergency stop at Huntingdon.
Train crew member Samir Zitouni was stabbed multiple times after bravely confronting Williams with a frying pan.
The weekend rampage began on 31 October with three people stabbed in Peterborough, one of whom was a 14-year-old boy.
