Husband who drugged and raped his wife asked a co-defendant to post sedatives to his dead mother-in-law's home, jury hears

The Stockport husband, whose name is withheld to shield his wife's identity, is standing trial with nine other men at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, charged with a pattern of abuse that stretched across more than two decades. Prosecutors allege he used platforms including Craigslist and fabswingers.com to recruit men, seeking out "many, many men whose fantasy is an unconscious and unresponsive woman." The case emerged after undercover journalists gained access to a Telegram chat group, which led investigators to a Samsung phone containing more than a million images.
Co-defendant David Graves, 60, of Ilkeston, Derbyshire, is accused of providing 'practical solutions' — including hiding crushed tablets in the victim's food.
In a separate Swindon trial, defendant Richard Wilkins, 62, told Winchester Crown Court he was told the wife would 'pretend to be asleep' and that she was 'looking forward' to his visit.
An online contact sent the husband an image of Bill Cosby captioned 'she can't say no if she's unconscious', the Manchester court heard.
