Alyssa Flynn, 12, told her father in a written statement read aloud in court that he had caused unbearable pain and should confess — then declared she would never visit him in prison. Her younger sister Ava, 10, called her father's mistress a 'dirty girl' and asked: 'What did she ever do to make you hate her so much?' Former American Idol contestant and church pastor Caleb Flynn, 40, was sentenced to life without parole by Miami County judge Jeannine Pratt for fatally shooting his wife Ashley, 37, at their Tipp City, Ohio home in February.
Flynn staged a home invasion to make it look like a burglar killed Ashley, but prosecutors proved he texted his mistress the night before: 'I choose you. I'm free. Actions will come tomorrow.'
Ashley's sister Kayla Keyt stunned the courtroom by telling Flynn 'I do forgive you' — before adding his betrayal had left his daughters questioning their Christian faith.
Flynn sobbed throughout but maintained his innocence, telling the court: 'As I stand here before God, I am not lying when I say I did not kill my wife.'
