'I'm ready to go': TikTok star Marcel Johnson, a father of five, dies aged 32 after a stomach cancer battle
Taylor Johnson announced her husband's death on Instagram on November 3, saying Marcel died at 4:45pm on November 2 after 25 rounds of chemotherapy, then stopping treatment in September when he became too weak. The 32-year-old had documented his entire cancer journey on social media after his stage four stomach cancer diagnosis in August 2025, building a following of more than 200,000. His final weeks saw a last-ditch trip on a private plane to the City of Hope Medical Center in California.
Marcel's last words, the day before he died, were 'I'm ready to go' — spoken to Taylor and his younger brother Dedric, who called Marcel his 'protector'.
A GoFundMe set up to cover his medical bills has now raised more than $370,000 and is being redirected to support Taylor and the couple's five boys.
Marcel had lost his health insurance in August while still actively fighting stage four cancer, forcing him to appeal publicly for donations to cover treatment costs.
