Idaho murders survivor pleads with a judge to keep her face hidden in footage after moving NINE times

Dylan Mortensen, 23, the sole eyewitness who came face to face with a masked man identified as Bryan Kohberger on the night four University of Idaho students were murdered in November 2022, has filed an affidavit with Judge Megan Marshall asking her to reverse last month's order authorising the release of police interview footage and body-camera recordings in which Mortensen's face may be visible. To shield her identity, she uses a false name for deliveries, in the workplace, and when meeting new people.

Journalists and unidentified individuals have shown up at her residences and located family members, forcing nine moves since the killings.

Kohberger, 31, pleaded guilty in July 2025 but then sought to withdraw that plea, keeping the case — and the spotlight on Mortensen — ongoing.
