Ilhan Omar insists her 'real name' is Ilhan Abdullahi Omar after prosecutors used her ex-husband's surname
Prosecutors identified her as "Ilhan Nur Said Elmi" in a D.C. federal court filing on Wednesday, attaching the surname of her ex-husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Reports have long alleged that he is her brother, a claim she has repeatedly denied. Omar was approached at Minnesota's Karmel Mall of Somalia while heading to Friday prayers. Border czar Tom Homan has said that if immigration fraud is established, she could face denaturalisation and deportation.
President Trump has demanded Omar resign from Congress over the name she has been using.
Republican Rep. Randy Fine vowed to 'demand expulsion immediately' if fraud is proven.
