Ilhan Omar's deleted 2013 tweet calling her father by his real name resurfaces as federal investigators probe her US immigration records

Federal investigators are examining whether Omar made false statements on immigration documents, a probe that intensified after a 2013 tweet resurfaced in which she referred to her father as 'Nur Said' — a name strikingly similar to that of her former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, whom she has long denied is her brother. Agents searched her Washington, DC, home on October 12. A court filing listed her name as 'Ilhan Nur Said Elmi', though Omar maintains: 'My name is Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.'

A 2020 Congressional Black Caucus memorial identified her father as Nur Omar Mohamed.

Benny Johnson asked: 'If she has nothing to hide, why is she deleting everything?'

Omar denies any wrongdoing and has described the federal investigation as a politically motivated attack.
