In thriller Whalefall a diver is swallowed whole by a sperm whale, but no whale has EVER swallowed a person

The sperm whale is the one whale with a throat wide enough to take a human, yet there is no recorded case of it happening. The only animal documented swallowing people whole is the reticulated python. In June 2021 a humpback scooped up lobster diver Michael Packard off Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He spent 30 to 40 seconds in its mouth before it spat him out.

Director Brian Duffield calls his film 'the opposite of Jaws' and the whale 'the hero'.
