Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka have walked free from Delhi's Tihar jail after a special magistrate turned down police attempts to extend their detention. Before leaving, both men had to sign a bond committing them to keeping the peace. Das said "truth has triumphed" following Wednesday evening's ruling. Supporters had branded the government "cowardly" for imprisoning the two men over a peaceful demonstration.

The pair were among 14 activists who climbed barricades at Jantar Mantar on October 13.

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke was taken into custody on Friday, then subsequently released.
