Indian police arrest 'Cockroach' movement founder after hauling him away before a flag-waving protest against India's election chief

'I have not broken any law right now... how can you detain me?' Abhijeet Dipke asked as Delhi officers bundled him into a car on Friday. Local media say he has now been formally arrested 'to prevent a breach of the peace'. He is due before a special executive magistrate later on Saturday. It is the second time in a week he has been detained, yet nearly 500 protesters still defied the crackdown.

The movement demands Gyanesh Kumar quit after 130 million names were deleted from voter rolls.

Student activist Neha Bora was also detained while marching to Connaught Place with supporters.

The movement posted: 'This government is so scared of the youth waving national flag.'
