Inside the 'boulder' house with huge windows and natural outdoor pool after owner wins Ilkley Moor planning row

The chaotic planning dispute over landowner David Rasche's green belt application has finally ended, with Whitehall inspectors approving it under the 'country house clause', which allows green belt homes of 'exceptional quality'. Bradford Council never decided on the application in time, so the plans went to appeal and inspectors decided instead. Ilkley Town Council warned the land is part of the South Pennine Moors SSSI. The house will sit near the Swastika Stone, a prehistoric carving.

The home, off Heber's Ghyll Drive, will have jagged windows and a natural outdoor pool.

Architect Matt Masserella-Gill called it 'the most complex country house application ever made'.

The house is called Fomorian, after the mythical giant Rombald said to roam the moor.
