US intelligence chief warns Rubio that Iranian plots to kill American officials have reached 'advanced stages'
Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton's memo, dated Friday, says the lethal plotting stretches beyond the Middle East into 'certain other countries'. US officials say the danger to Americans is at its highest since the war began in February. The State Department is cutting staff at embassies in Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar and the UAE. Non-essential personnel were ordered out of Saudi Arabia this week.
President Donald Trump told a Florida rally: 'We may do another little Epic Fury.'
The one-page memo names no specific targets and does not say attacks are imminent.
Ambassador Tom Barrack said a weekend strike could 'absolutely' happen; Trump said he knew nothing about it.
