Iranian man who tried to enter Trident nuclear submarine base at Faslane will face NO PROSECUTION

Scottish prosecutors have dropped the case against a 34-year-old Iranian man arrested in March after allegedly attempting to breach the Faslane nuclear submarine base — home to Britain's entire Trident deterrent. The Crown Office said insufficient admissible evidence existed to proceed, though it reserved the right to bring charges if new evidence emerges. The arrests came just weeks after the US and Israel had attacked Iran.

The Iranian man had been charged after the March 19 incident but was released without appearing in court, pending further inquiries.

A 31-year-old Romanian woman arrested alongside him was already cleared of proceedings in April, meaning both are now free from prosecution.

Faslane houses the four Vanguard-class submarines carrying Britain's Trident nuclear missiles — making it one of the most sensitive military sites in the country.
