Israel calls for UN commission to be scrapped after it accuses Israel of genocide in Gaza since the ceasefire

The UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory also accuses Israeli forces of extermination, torture and rape in Gaza and the West Bank. Israel's mission in Geneva called the report part of a 'misinformation campaign to demonize the state of Israel'. The report landed on the eve of Israel's first election since the October 7 attacks. International Criminal Court prosecutors could use its findings.

Benjamin Netanyahu has told the UN General Assembly that genocide claims are 'the biggest lie of the century'.

The commission investigated seven cases between November 2023 and June 2026, many of them involving children.

The report alleges guards denied one detainee sanitary pads, and she bled onto her interrogation chair.
