Israel is to close all West Bank crossings on election day and bar Palestinian workers from settlements after two soldiers were killed
Bulldozers have already flattened at least one whole street in Hebron, where the city's 200,000 residents are sealed in by checkpoints. Defence Minister Israel Katz put the number displaced at about 2,000. Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the operation on Friday after two Palestinian gunmen killed two soldiers at a checkpoint. He trails Gadi Eisenkot 41% to 49% ahead of Tuesday's vote.
Netanyahu vowed troops would 'go house to house' and destroy 'terrorist infrastructures'.
Soldiers marked homes for demolition with sprayed black crosses, and families slept outside.
Activist Issa Amro: 'Our suffering is being turned into political material' for the elections.
