Israel kills October 7 Nukhba Force commander Abd al-Fattah Abu al-Eish in targeted Gaza airstrike

Abd al-Fattah Abu al-Eish, a commander in Hamas's elite Nukhba Force special unit that carried out the October 7 massacre, was killed in a precision Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Saturday. Hamas operative Raed Adel Mohammed Alyan died in the same strike, with the IDF using precision-guided munitions and aerial surveillance to limit civilian risk. Israel says both men had been advancing fresh attacks in violation of the ceasefire.

A separate IDF strike hit a Hamas commander hiding inside Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.

The IDF warned Gaza medical authorities on 27 August to stop allowing terrorists to use hospitals, threatening further strikes if the practice continued.

Gaza medics say a separate Israeli strike on Sunday killed two people, including a three-year-old boy.
