Anne Hathaway has apologised after a clip of her directing red carpet photographers at the New York premiere of her new film 'Verity' went viral, calling it 'the stuff of nightmares'. The 43-year-old, who is heavily pregnant with her third child, appeared visibly mortified when host Jimmy Fallon played the footage on 'The Tonight Show'. She admitted she had gone into 'mom mode by way of chorus line' while trying to bring order to a chaotic photocall alongside co-stars Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
Hathaway could be heard telling photographers 'we are going to start from the left and then we can make our way that way' as she waved her arms like an orchestra conductor.
Co-star Dakota Johnson quipped 'and then I'm gonna leave' as Hathaway took charge — and later appeared to do a small jig on the spot during the impromptu direction session.
Hathaway confessed her immediate reaction was dread: 'But there's also video! And I went into a full cringe crouch from inside.'
