Thugs allegedly sent by the ex-chairman of Italy's oldest bank dropped an executive from a window by MISTAKE, inquiry claims
Two jailed witnesses claim Giuseppe Mussari, former chairman of Monte dei Paschi di Siena, sent men to frighten communications chief David Rossi into silence in 2013. Rossi was allegedly moving millions for the Grande Aracri 'Ndrangheta clan and planned to tell the authorities. Two magistrates' inquiries ruled suicide. Mussari strongly denies the claim and says he will defend himself in court.
Gabriele Ceccherelli, a calcio storico player, is accused of choosing the attackers.
CCTV shows two figures checking Rossi's dying body before walking away without calling help.
Commission chair Gianluca Vinci is referring the names to prosecutors.
