Edward 'Eddie' Gillis ran the Detroit vinyl pressing plant for Jack White's Third Man Records for 10 years. He died on Saturday, and White wrote on Instagram that 'the world lost a beautiful soul today'. White, the youngest of 10 siblings, said Eddie was the family's guitar player while Jack was still on drums only. He leaves his wife Angie and two children, Amelia and Garrett.

Gillis was also a pastry chef who ran kitchens for the Ritz Carlton and Beaumont Hospital.

He made small sculptures and flowers out of vinyl scraps from the pressing plant.

The brothers once played together for the Detroit Tigers at spring training in Florida.
