Jailed ex-DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson is to be questioned in prison by the Met over a Westminster sex assault claim

The further sex abuse allegation surfaces just days after Jeffrey Donaldson was handed a 15-year sentence at Newry Crown Court. He had been charged with child sex abuse crimes including rape. Mary Lou McDonald said she hopes the sentencing brings closure for his victims. Before the trial, Donaldson had lined up a lucrative new CEO job in North Africa, convinced he would walk free.

Donaldson planned to leave Northern Ireland for good and take his wife Eleanor with him.
