James Acaster, 41, said on a podcast that tabloid reports claiming he complained to producers about being teased by Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan were "completely fabricated." The BBC and reps for Beckett and Ranganathan have all categorically denied the allegations, with a show spokesperson confirming there were "no incidents of this nature" during filming.

Acaster revealed agents for all three comedians denied the story, but were told by the outlet: 'Cool, printing it tomorrow.'

Richard Osman weighed in separately, calling right-wing backlash to winners Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft donating their £83,000 prize pot to refugee charities "genuinely pathetic."

Croft separately revealed he fainted during an unaired grave-digging challenge and came round to find Jerry Hall and Richard E Grant staring at him.
