James Acaster reveals he 'should have walked out' of Celebrity Traitors when he was buried underground in the coffin challenge

James Acaster, 41, has spoken out following his exit from Celebrity Traitors, revealing his greatest fear nearly drove him to quit before his dramatic confession as a Traitor. He told Far Out magazine the coffin challenge — in which contestants were buried underground while others dug them out — was the closest he came to walking away. Filming was later halted after he became visibly distressed during the roundtable where actor Michael Sheen, 57, forced his confession.

Acaster admitted he lay underground thinking 'I'm really scared of this' and said he should have followed Jerry Hall, who quit the challenge immediately.

Richard Osman has since said Acaster's dramatic arc may prompt changes to how the game is structured in future series.
