James O'Keefe and Cam Higby face felony charges over a hidden-camera Minnesota polling sting in which they cast NO votes

James O'Keefe, 42, founder and former leader of Project Veritas, and Cam Higby, 26, wore costumes and used the names of real registered voters to start the ballot-vouching process at a Minnesota primary polling site on 11 August, recording the exchange on a hidden camera to expose what they claimed were vulnerabilities in state voting laws. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced felony charges of unlawful voting and identity theft at a press conference on Wednesday. Poll workers spotted the suspicious behaviour and alerted election officials, who called police. Neither man has yet entered a plea.
Moriarty said the episode proved 'the system for identifying misconduct and responding to it functioned well.'
Higby denounced the charges as 'lawfare' and 'FASCISM' on social media, claiming authorities wanted to strip him of his vote.
The pair began the vouching process but did not actually cast ballots — a distinction Moriarty said did not make their conduct legal.
