JD Vance says he is 'disgusted' by Republicans 'whining' over Ramaswamy's Ohio attack ad featuring former Ohio health director's estranged mother
In the ad, Donna Arthur calls her daughter Amy Acton, the Democratic nominee for Ohio governor, a 'liar' and urges voters to reject her. Acton was removed from Arthur's home after her stepfather was charged with raping her. Arthur fled the state with him in 1978 before the case reached trial. Ramaswamy admitted on Tuesday that his campaign was behind the ad.
Vance said: 'Whether the ad was appropriate or not is not really my concern.'
Nikki Haley branded Ramaswamy 'a bad guy' after the ad surfaced.
President Trump said of the ad 'I know nothing about it', but claimed the mother 'went very rogue'.
