Jeremy Clarkson is branded 'unacceptable' after joking Argentine F1 driver Franco Colapinto deserved a grid penalty for his nationality

Alpine, the team that invited Jeremy Clarkson to Austin as its guest, publicly distanced itself from him. It said his 'personal views' clash with its values of 'kindness and respect'. Colapinto's manager Jamie Campbell-Walter said there is 'no place for remarks like this' in F1. The 23-year-old from Buenos Aires starts Sunday's US Grand Prix from 21st after an engine penalty.
Clarkson told Martin Brundle on Sky: 'Franco got a grid penalty for being Argentinian.'
He blamed 'what happened when we went there', which appears to refer to Top Gear's 2014 Patagonia shoot.
That crew fled to Chile after an 'H982 FKL' number plate sparked protests.
