Jeremy Corbyn calls for Man City to be relegated as Roberto Mancini admits to having 'a double contract'

Arsenal fan and Islington North MP Jeremy Corbyn has demanded Man City suffer a points deduction severe enough to relegate them, calling it a "seismic" consequence the club deserves. Deputy Mayor Lucy Powell, who holds a City season ticket, insisted the club's trophies were "hard fought for" and said she remained proud of them.

Mancini's alleged double contract — a base salary topped up by payments for advising an Abu Dhabi club — is among 14 charges over inaccurate manager compensation details.

Powell's defence of the trophies puts Burnham's own deputy at odds with Corbyn, who says relegation is the only fitting punishment.
