Corey-Dean Thorpe sobbed in the witness box as he told the New South Wales Supreme Court that Jesse Baird was terrified of accused killer Beau Lamarre-Condon because he was a police officer with a gun who could destroy his career. Thorpe said Baird kept repeating "he has a gun" and had never sounded so scared. Baird's mother also gave emotional evidence on Wednesday, breaking down in tears before the court.
Lamarre-Condon, 31, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Baird, 26, and his new partner Luke Davies, 29, at a Sydney terrace in February 2024.
Lamarre-Condon claims a female friend, given the pseudonym Elizabeth Kennedy, suggested hiding the bodies, allegedly comparing it to Taylor Swift's song 'No Body, No Crime' — a claim the Crown says is a lie.
