John Torode and Lisa Faulkner upsize from £1.8m north London home to get a bigger kitchen for their YouTube show

A cramped, galley-style kitchen with no space for a camera crew prompted John Torode, 61, and Lisa Faulkner, 54, to leave their Muswell Hill home for a larger property nearby. They cut £105,000 from the asking price to get the deal done. The couple still expect to walk away with nearly £600,000 in profit on the five-bedroom Edwardian house they purchased for £1.2m in 2015. Viewers of their show will get a look at the new kitchen within days.

Their show 'John and Lisa's Kitchen and Home' has 1.8m views and 26,400 subscribers.

The move comes 15 months after Torode lost his judging role on BBC's MasterChef.

Faulkner received a breast cancer diagnosis in April and spent her post-surgery recovery time in the garden.
