The cross-border strikes follow Monday's capture of two brothers and their brother-in-law in a dawn shootout at an abandoned house in Karak. All three suspects were wounded and no officers were hurt. Interior Minister Mazen al-Faraya had said there were 'no indications' of links to other cells. King Abdullah II had ordered an 'iron fist' response to the attack on St George's Greek Orthodox Church.

Gunmen opened fire on Friday's funeral in Hmoud village, wounding 34 mourners.

Prime Minister Jafar Hassan blamed 'terrorist takfiri ideology' for the attack.

Survivor Khalid al-Mdanat said the gunmen fled in a pick-up truck 'firing as they went'.
