Liam Green, 45, the gardener whose doorstep offer to cut grass for £7.50 triggered a half-hour hunt across the Cudworth estate by Mark Wigley's family.

It began with a doorbell photo: Louise Jean Wigley, upset that Liam Green, 45, had knocked offering to cut her grass, shared his picture with family on Facebook. Her son Mark Wigley, 60, his daughter Sarah Wigley and brother-in-law Neil Shaw then spent half an hour hunting Liam across his Cudworth estate, dismissing his efforts as 'badgering old ladies for money'.

Prosecutor Tom Storey KC said Mark Wigley's family hunted gardener Liam Green to 'teach him a lesson'.

Earlier, Mark Wigley slammed Liam Green against a van; Liam then dodged a Range Rover driven at him.

Judge Graham Reeds KC called the evidence against Mark Wigley 'abundant and clear', ordering immediate imprisonment.
