Judge rules Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor may be called as a witness in a High Court fraud trial over £750,000 payment
Selman Turk, a former Goldman Sachs banker who denies dishonesty, won permission from Mr Justice Adam Johnson to seek evidence from the former duke. Nebahat Isbilen, 77, alleges her ex-adviser Turk misled her over the 2019 payment. The judge said 'fairness requires' Turk be allowed to put his own case. A witness summons 'will likely' be needed to compel Andrew to appear.
Andrew faces no allegations of wrongdoing, and the case does not centre on him.
Turk also arranged £225,000 for Sarah Ferguson and £25,000 for Princess Eugenie.
The 11-week trial is expected to open in London in November.
