Judge throws out £340m Uber case by 13,000 cab drivers for being too late — WITHOUT examining the claims

Mr Justice Birt ruled the lawsuits were time-barred, saying the drivers could have uncovered the alleged deception before 2018. They accused Uber of feeding misleading information to Transport for London to win its 2012 licence in the capital. Nearly £200m was sought for the cabbies. A further £140m was claimed for private hire firms Kabbie and Iride.
RGL Management, which ran the case, is 'considering all options' after the defeat.
Uber said the ruling put 'these legacy matters firmly in the past'.
Uber denied the claims, and the case was first delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
