Jury retires in Kieran Hayler rape trial after prosecutor says Katie Price's evidence is likely to be treated with caution

Prosecutor Ryan Richter cautioned jurors that they 'may well put 90% of her evidence to one side'. Kieran Hayler, 39, Katie Price's ex-husband, denies three counts of rape and one of sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in West Sussex in 2016. Judge Mark van der Zwart dispatched the jury of six women and five men at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday afternoon. He also faces four alternative counts of sexual activity with a child.

Richter asked jurors to consider what the girl stood to gain from telling the court 'a pack of lies'.

Defence barrister Arlette Piercy told jurors that 'emotion is enemy of reason'.

In 2017 messages to the girl, Price wrote: 'I will make you a little star'.
