Kansas mother is released without charge after her truck killed a boy, 6, and a man at a soccer game
Wichita police freed the 34-year-old driver while they await toxicology results and a mechanical examination of her Chevrolet pickup. Detectives carried out more than 30 interviews, including with two of her own children, and consulted the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office. Six-year-old Adrian Cole and Nicholas Schafer, 35, both from McPherson, died at Stryker Sports Complex. The two were not related.
As parents pulled her from the cab, she reportedly cried: 'Oh my God, what have I done?'
Ten people aged five to 68 were injured, five of them children.
One grandfather said the truck ran over his chair and missed him by inches.
