Princess Kate, 44, charmed pensioners at a community lunch club in Pulborough, West Sussex, telling them she genuinely loves doing the washing up at home. She added that Prince William handles the drying and that the couple rope in their three children — George, 13, Charlotte, 11, and Louis, 8 — to help. Kate arrived at the Pulborough Village Hall on a volunteer-run minibus, collecting elderly residents from their homes before joining their weekly lunch. One guest joked 'oh good, a volunteer!' when Kate declared her love of the chore.
Kate also admitted she is forgetful and regularly misplaces her own handbag, getting laughs from the group.
The weekly lunch club, which tackles loneliness among elderly locals, was marking its 60th anniversary; the minibus service that brought guests in has run for 50 years.
One guest, Lynda Jones, 75, let Kate try some ready-salted crinkle-cut crisps — and reported the princess said she liked them.
