Katherine Ryan reveals an offended Victoria Beckham contacted her over her 'c-word' joke on Have I Got News For You

Canadian comedian Katherine Ryan, 43, says Victoria Beckham contacted her directly after a BBC's 'Have I Got News For You' joke that compared the former Spice Girl to the c-word, with Ryan saying she "unreservedly apologised" and said "I love you and I'm really sorry."

The BBC upheld complaints, ruling there was "no such justification" for the remark, and edited it out of the iPlayer version.

Ryan insists Beckham would have seen it was "tongue-in-cheek" had she watched the broadcast, adding she "never actually used the c-word."

'I think you should say sorry once, and leave it at that,' Ryan said, adding she hopes they "can patch things up one day."
