Katie Zacharia blames media for her ouster and says she would return as press secretary if Trump asked, after being blindsided by Hannity's 'hostility'

Katie Zacharia, 41, the conservative commentator fired as Trump's White House press secretary after just five days in October, is blaming "the media and all of Washington" for her ouster — while also revealing she remains open to returning to the role if Trump were to ask her. She told a Newsmax host she was blindsided by Sean Hannity's aggressive questioning about her bar exam record, having expected a friendly exchange because of their prior rapport, and says she was "perplexed" by his hostility.
Zacharia's single briefing lasted 14 minutes, took only three questions, and was widely mocked before Hannity pressed her on why she had called herself a lawyer despite failing the California bar exam.
Kayleigh McEnany, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Ari Fleischer and Sean Spicer all contacted Zacharia to express sympathy over her limited preparation time, she claimed.
She was mid-interview with the Wall Street Journal when a senior Trump adviser pulled her away to speak with Vice President JD Vance — and she never returned to the interview.
